Welcome to a ROUND 2it Specialty PuzzlesCustom Hardwood Puzzles These puzzles are made from 1/4" or 5/16" solid cherry or walnut. No picture is placed on the hardwood. They are cut freehand using an electric scroll saw, making each one a unique creation. You may specify any width and height you wish (as long as it's no less than 3" and no more than 24"). The ideal size is between 5" and 8" round. Other hardwoods and unique shapes are available on request. You can select between three different piece sizes on the order form, but if you want more or fewer pieces than one of these sizes provides you, just let me know. The default is the "standard" size puzzle piece. The "standards" size produces about one piece per square inch of puzzle. In other words, an 8" by 10" puzzle having 80 square inches would have about 80 to 100 pieces. Pieces cut in the "small" size are about half that size. An 8" by 10" puzzle would have about 160 to 180 pieces. Pieces cut "large" are about twice the "standard" size. An 8" by 10" puzzle with "large" pieces would have about 40 pieces. I currently use three different styles of cutting, as shown below. Generally a combination of all three styles into each puzzle. Each puzzle will also contain the around2it logo piece in it.
The price of a puzzle is based on the number of pieces. The basic formula is $2.50 per piece, plus $45.00. A premium charged for solid woods which need careful selection and additional finishing. Additional charges may apply in special situations. The price is calculated automatically by using the order form when you select the size of puzzle and pieces desired. Piece counts vary by 5 to 10 % on all puzzles. Your price is fixed at the time of order so you will not be charged for "extra" pieces. Exact piece count puzzles are an extra charge. Custom projects requiring significant design and layout work may cost more. Pricing for custom projects will be provided upon request. |
